2008 IBBT Rules

Dates Saturday & Sunday, April 19 - 20, 2008
Number of Entries Tournament will be limited to the first 50 teams to register.
Location Lake of the Ozarks in the beautiful central Missouri Ozarks. Red Oak Resort will be the headquarters resort, as well as the takeoff/weigh-in location. See the LODGING page for more information.
Format

The IBBT will be a 2-day Buddy Tournament. Each team will be allowed to weigh 5 total fish per boat per day. Daily team creel may include any combination of largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass. 

Check In Check In will be held Friday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the small pavilion at Red Oak. Each angler MUST sign a release waiver at Check In.
Takeoff

Takeoff will be at 6:30 A.M. Saturday and Safe Light Sunday. Takeoff positions for BOTH DAYS will be determined by date online entry is received by the tournament committee - earliest entries will takeoff first on Saturday. Takeoff positions for Sunday will be in the REVERSE ORDER of Saturday's takeoff. Each team will be provided a number corresponding to their takeoff position. 

At least one member of each team must be present for the pre-tournament meeting Saturday April 19th at 6:00 A.M.  The meeting will be located on the dock on the water side of the restaurant (dock with the RED roof). You may be in your boat in front of this dock or standing on the dock - your choice.

ALL contestants must leave from and return to Red Oak Resort by water. You may launch elsewhere, but you must then boat to Red Oak for takeoff. There will be NO TRAILERING to another launch site allowed between takeoff and weigh in. All boats must remain in the water until they return to Red Oak by water for weigh in. If you return to Red Oak early and are finished fishing for the day, you may load your boat at that time.

Live wells will be checked  just prior to takeoff!

    
Eligibility All entrants must have filled out the entry, paid the entry fee, signed a waiver form at Check In, and possess a valid Missouri Fishing License.
Entry Fee

Entry fee will be $60 per boat for the entire weekend, even if you can't fish both days. $50 will be used for tournament and Saturday evening dinner expenses, and the remaining $10 will be awarded for the Big Bass competition.

There will be a maximum of two (2) registered anglers per boat. Registrations will be  accepted until 11;59 pm, Friday, April 5th, 2008. Each angler (boater AND non-boater) must sign a waiver form at check-in certifying compliance with these rules.

If an angler wishes to fish but needs a partner, fill out entry form accordingly and mail in the entire $60 per boat entry fee.  We will attempt to match those needing partners. If a partner can not be found, you will be notified prior to the tournament.

Note, if an angler wishes to fish alone, he/she is responsible for the entire per boat entry fee.

Tournament Times  & Weigh-In

Saturday, 6:30 A.M. until 3:30 P.M.

Sunday, Safe Light until 12 NOON (Safe Light will be defined at Saturday morning meeting) Lights must be installed and ON from takeoff until at least you reach your first fishing spot.

At least one member of each team must be present for the pre-tournament meeting at 6:00 A.M. Saturday.

One member of each team must return their team number to the check in table at the weigh in site prior to the tournament ending time each day to avoid a late penalty. After checking in your team, you can return to your boat to collect your fish when your team called to the scales.

Late Penalty

There will be a penalty of 1 pound per minute assessed against any team reporting late. After 5 minutes the team is disqualified.

Short Fish Penalty

One(1) pound penalty plus loss of that fish will be imposed for each short fish submitted for weigh-in.

Dead Fish Penalty

A dead fish will be imposed a penalty of
 loss of 1/2 of the weight of the dead fish
PLEASE MAKE AN EFFORT TO KEEP YOU FISH ALIVE. Mangled fish will not be allowed to be weighed.

Tournament Creel Limit

FIVE (5) black bass (any combination of LM, SM, or KY) per boat per day.  

All fish must be 15" or longer as measured on a Golden Rule measuring board. Weigh-in bags are the responsibility of each angler, so please bring your own.

Prizes/Payback

Team Championship
Plaques will be awarded for the three (3) heaviest team stringers (maximum of 5 fish per boat per day) regardless of black bass species. Saturday's weight and Sunday's weight will be combined to determine the final team weight. 


Big Bass Competition
Big Bass will be awarded to the TEAM weighing in the heaviest bass during the tournament regardless of species. Each team can weigh in 1 fish per day to be counted toward big bass.

100% of Big Bass entry fees will be awarded. 


Various product and cash prizes will also be given out for tournament placing and attendance. The type and amount of these prizes will be determined based on the number of entrants and donations.

Definition of Legal Fish Only Black Bass are to be included in this competition. These include Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Kentucky or Spotted Bass. All fish must be 15" or longer as measured on the Golden Rule measuring board.
Landing Nets Landing nets are allowed to help land your fish.
Live Bait The use of live bait is prohibited and will result in disqualification of the offending team.
Trolling Trolling is prohibited and will result in disqualification of the offending team.
Off Limits Areas Follow rules posted by lake officials. Any additional off limits areas will be covered at the pre-tournament meeting.
Alcoholic Beverages Please obey all state and federal laws pertaining to alcohol. Please use common sense and restraint.
Life Jackets Life jackets must be worn and zipped or buckled by BOTH anglers while the outboard engine is running.
Boating Safety
& Courtesy
All Missouri Rules of Safe Boating shall be observed. Be kind and considerate of others. Please remember this is for fun.
Protests All protests must be presented to IBBT Chairman Chuck Campbell  in writing within 15 minutes of the close of weigh in. All protests will be evaluated by the IBBT Committee and the decision of the committee will be final
Kill Switch

A OPERATING kill switch MUST be attached to the driver anytime the outboard motor is running.
