Welcome to the Heartland
Tackle Service website.
My name is Jim Johns and I work as a
Computer Systems Analyst with a major aerospace company to pay the
bills. I opened Heartland Tackle Service in April of 2002 as a way to
fill some spare time and make a few bucks to help fund my fishing hobby. For several years, I provided "The
Best Reel Service in the Heartland", specializing in
Shimano
and Abu Garcia baitcasting reels. I repaired an average of 300 reels
per year during that time. Unfortuantely, every winter the reel repair
business turned into a second full time job. In April of 2007, I decided I needed
a break and I closed the reel
repair part of the business at that time. Not wanting to get completely away from
the business and the many friends I'd made, I decided to continue to offer parts and advice.
Here is a list of some the fine products I
sell. These are all products that I used when I repaired reels and that
I use on my personal reels.
